Lockheed Martin Corp. spent $3.3 million in the second quarter lobbying on tactical aircraft and other defense systems, according to a recent disclosure form.

The Bethesda, Md.-based defense contractor spent $4.1 million during the year-ago period for lobbying work, and $3.3 million in the first quarter.

Lockheed, which had total revenue of $42.7 billion in 2008, lobbied on several spending bills including defense and homeland security, as well as on a bill to improve how the Pentagon buys major weapon systems. The company did not name specific weapon systems it lobbied on during the three-month period.
