A pounds 7M programme was announced yesterday to help the Welsh steel industry to develop new products and close a high level skills gap.
The Steel Training Research and Innovation Partnership (STRIP) will benefit from pounds 4m in European funding to support Welsh universities and colleges to sharpen the industry's competitive edge.
The target is to achieve higher levels of necessary skills, providing Masters and Doctorate studies for graduates across Wales as well as improving the skills of existing workers.
