Great Britain's Phillips Idowu has won the gold medal in the triple jump at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin.
Taking the title from defending world champion Nelson Evora, Idowu jumped a personal best of 17.73m to beat his great rival, Portugal's Nelson Evora, into second place by 18 centimetres.
The Olympic silver medallist had already produced the second biggest jump in qualifying for the final, 17.32 metres, but Evora, who pipped Idowu to Olympic gold in Beijing by 5 centimetres, was the man to beat.
