The Houston-based software developer Aphelion Inc. has developed Petro Pages ECP (for "electronic competitive procurement"), a program that will assist mechanical engineers working in the petrochemical and other process industries to find and purchase equipment from pumps to vessels directly from their own personal computer.
The company has been developing software to support the procurement process in the petrochemical area with its Petro Pages software for the past five years, according to company president Reg Berka, a mechanical engineer.
