Howard Gardner's book Five Minds for the Future has recently been released in paperback by the Harvard Business Press. The author argues that there are five intellectual capacities, or "minds," which will be essential for the effective leader in the future. He discusses some ways to nurture these capacities or remove barriers to their exercise in schools and workplaces. While Gardner is not a futurist and he completed this book before the current banking and market crisis, his observations remain accurate and relevant, and his projections seem logical and valid.
