Bombardier is to relocate production work from its Belfast Shorts plant to China, the Belfast Telegraph can reveal. The planemaker, in the midst of major redundancies, has offered an assurance on the move which involves mid-fuselage sections for a new airliner.
In a statement the company said it did not expect Belfast manpower levels to be affected by the relocation for at least 18 months . It said it is currently making the largest investment ever in Northern Ireland involving a new factory and more than 800 jobs.
