PETRONAS and its PSC (production sharing contract) contractors are expected to start opening new contracts for bidding, possibly totalling about 50 vessels, to support the local oil and gas (O&G) industry.
One of the main beneficiaries would be Alam Maritim Resources Bhd given its fleet of young and Malaysian-flagged vessels, said OSK Research in its investment research report today.
Yesterday, Alam Maritim reported a RM67.376 million pre-tax profit for the six months ended June 30, 2009 compared with RM40.572 million in the previous corresponding period.
