NEWTONVILLE, Mass., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer printer sales will continue to grow well into the next century, boosted by an expanding PC market in the United States and technology infrastructure improvements in developing areas of the world, according to the latest worldwide forecast published by Lyra Research's Hard Copy Industry Advisory Service.
Unit shipments for both single-function (print only) and multifunction machines will approach 80 million units by 2002, up from 52 million in 1997, a compound annual growth rate of 8.7 percent.
