Over the last few months, there has been a tremendous amount of discussion about "The Jerry Springer Show." I have joined with several others to pressure the networks and the show's producer to change the way the show has come to define itself.
We specifically named four problem areas: violence pornography, obscenity and the degradation of women.
My concern is that when you produce a show that daily models negative behavior, you feed our lower nature. The show draws on the worst in us and suggests that the behavior portrayed is all right or normal. Every time someone disagrees or argues, a fight breaks out. This models a behavior pattern where ...
