State-owned financier Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) will foray into renewable energy generation. The proposal follows the company s plans to get into thermal electricity generation. The company is in talks with five firms Tata Power, Larsen & Toubro, GVK Power and Infrastructure, KSK Energy Ventures and Dalmia Cement for floating joint ventures for setting up power projects.
