The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has expressed concern over the possible delay in completing the Colombo Port Expansion Project (CPEP) by April 2012 as scheduled due to issues related to low royalty figures quoted by the only bidder for the project.
The royalty figures quoted by the only bidder to build the first container terminal on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) agreement are lower than the expected amount, a top SLPA official told The Sunday Leader.
The bidder, China Merchant together with Aitken Spence in Sri Lanka has passed the technical bid due to its vast experience in the industry.
