TOKYO, Aug 25 Asia Pulse - Keio University, Benesse Corp. (TSE:9783) and others announced Monday that it has established a joint venture to develop electric cars powered by in-wheel-motors, a technology that will dramatically lengthen electric vehicles' driving distances.
SIM-Drive Corp. was set up at a capitalization of 44 million yen (US$465,476). Its investors also include used-car dealer Gulliver International Co. (TSE:7599) and Kyoto-based green technology start-up Nano-Optonics Energy Inc., as well as Marubeni Corp. (TSE:8002).
