Bombardier has received the composite material centre fuselage section for its new CSeries aircraft from China for testing. The aluminum-lithium barrel measuring seven metres long with a diameter of 3.7 metres arrived at the manufacturer's Montreal plant ty following a two-month journey from Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, a unit of China Aviation Industry.
It will now be put to a series of tests before the 110-to 130-seat aircraft's final design phase next year. The CSeries is scheduled to enter into service in 2013. The Chinese partner will manufacture more than 10 per cent of the plane, including the tail assembly. It also makes the ...
