Dear Editor: Be Americans first and Republicans, independents, or Democrats second. You don't have to be a socialist to be a humanitarian.
Let's try this common sense solution to our health care problem: First, create universal health care for every American -- with the U.S. government being the single payer. This is accomplished by simply eliminating the age required to receive Medicare and putting every American into this program.
Second, have experts establish fair payments for medical tests, drugs, hospital charges, and pay doctors according to their specialty. Do the same as mechanics do when you take your car ...
