Monarc offers new twists for stress urinary incontinence

American Medical Systems (Minneapolis, Minnesota) reported last week that it has received FDA 510(k) approval of its Monarc system, the full name being Monarc subfascial hammock, for treating stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
Monarc, the company says, offers a less-invasive system for dealing with this oft-embarrassing problem. And it literally provides more than one new twist in this treatment procedure, with the company hoping that the new features of the Monarc will reach across procedural lines for expanded adoption.
