Aegis Therapeutics LLC, of San Diego, and Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y., expanded their existing research relationship to include a joint commercialization deal for promoting clinical development of the college's obesity peptide drug. Under the terms, Aegis will be responsible for developing an appropriate pharma partnership to commercialize the drug in obesity and diabetes indications.
Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., of New York, said clinical data added to the labeling for rheumatoid arthritis drug Orencia (abatacept) supported use of the product in patients with moderate to severe disease of less than or equal to two years duration.
