Procter & Gamble may acquire 43.6% of Germanys Beiersdorf

Procter & Gamble (P&G, Cincinnati, Ohio) is said to be preparing an offer for the 43.6% stake held by Allianz (Frankfurt, Germany) in Beiersdorf (Hamburg, Germany), the owner of the Nivea and Hansaplast brands.

Tchibo Holdings (also Hamburg), a family holding company that also owns coffee shops across Germany, holds another 30% of shares. A possible alternative scenario is for Tchibo to acquire the Allianz shares although it already has signaled that it is unwilling to pay a strategic premium ...
