Panel backs Cypher stent, but investors question timing

As expected, the Cypher drug-eluting stent from the Cordis (Miami Lakes, Florida) unit of Johnson & Johnson (New Brunswick, New Jersey) received a strong recommendation for FDA approval from the agencys Circulatory System Devices panel that approval coming late Tuesday afternoon.
But the approval came with some questions from the FDA staff, followed by various conditions raised by the advisory panel, those questions and conditions producing doubts among investors concerning the timing of final product approval. At the same time, ...
