Weight loss supplements abound. Many supplements contain ephedra, also called ma huang (Ephedra sinica); other popular ingredients include synephrine, from bitter orange (Citrus aurantium), green tea (Camellia sinensis), St. Johns wort (Hypericum perforatum), and chitosan.
