BIG BROTHER, the reality TV show loved and loathed in equal measure, is to be axed.
Ratings for the programme, which pulled in an audience of ten million at the height of its popularity, have fallen to about two million viewers for the latest season, which featured a star turn from Irish contestant Noirin Kelly.
Now Channel 4 has announced that next year's Big Brother - the 11th - will be the last.
There will also be a final edition of the show's celebrity version.
The programme, which was launched in 2000, has always been the source of much controversy.
