MANILA, Aug 27 Asia Pulse - The global economic recession did not stop the Philippine government's trade promotion arm in securing new niche for innovative domestic products and creative industries through international trade fairs overseas and in Manila during the first semester.

A total of 1,287 small and medium enterprises were given marketing assistance and about US$205 million export revenues were generated by the government's trade promotions activities, mainly trade shows. This was reported by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Mission (CITEM) an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry.
