THOUSANDS of youngsters in Coventry and Warwickshire enjoyed a day they will never forget as they picked up their GCSE results yesterday.
Overjoyed pupils at Lyng Hall School in Wyken, Coventry, telephoned their mums and dads and even hugged their teachers to achieve record results this year with 70 per cent obtaining at least five GCSEs at C or above in any subject and 38 per cent getting five or more at C or above including maths and English.
