The staff at Phycal LLC would make terrible pool boys.
The Highland Heights company pumps dark green water that rushes in loops through several plastic, oval-shaped ponds at its lab on Alpha Park, where it is trying to optimize a process the company says could lead to cheaper biofuels.
Phycal says it can extract vegetable oil from algae without killing it while also protecting the algae from predators and contaminants, both of which plague anyone trying to grow algae in an open pond.
