Alliant Techsystems Inc. said Thursday it has signed a new strategic agreement with European defense firm Rheinmetall Nitrochemie. Under the deal, Rheinmetall Nitrochemie will transfer advanced propellant technologies to ATK, making Eden Prairie-based ATK the exclusive North American provider of Extruded Impregnated, Extruded Composite Low-sensitivity, Surface Coated Double Base and R-Type propellants, which are used in ammunition.
