MONSON - When legislators return to Beacon Hill, casino gaming is almost a sure bet to be on the autumn agenda.
Ahead of that discussion a fledgling statewide organization has called for a blue-ribbon panel to weigh the costs and benefits of expanded gambling activity in Massachusetts, whether it's slot machines at racetracks or resort casinos.
Kathleen C. Norbut, a member of United to Stop Slots in Massachusetts, said the group will launch a statewide campaign Sept. 1.
