Aug 30, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- On her outspoken blogs, horse racing powerhouse Gai Waterhouse argues that corporate bookmakers should not be treated as "funding scapegoats". Industry leaders such as John Messara, ex-head of Arrowfield Stud, fear Waterhouse's online revelations could damage her multi-billion dollar training operation. Waterhouse thinks the racing industry, which contributes $A5 billion per annum to GDP, could disappear within 20 years.
