AT&T Inc. has expanded its third-generation, or 3G, wireless network in parts of Virginia Beach, Suffolk and Chesapeake.
The telecommunications company completed the expansion in the Fentress area of Virginia Beach and the Harbor View area of Suffolk. By Friday night, it was to finish additional 3G coverage near Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake, along Va. 168 to the North Carolina line, and in new areas of Suffolk - including along U.S. 58 into downtown, in the Nansemond area, around Shoulders Hill Road and in Holiday Point Estates.
With the changes, AT&T has increased 3G coverage in Hampton Roads by about 220 square miles since launching the network ...
