About 40 years ago, Jocko Marcellino was recruited to play football at Columbia University.
But Marcellino's vision went beyond the gridiron.
"I had an eye on Broadway," Marcellino says during a recent phone interview.
When he headed south to play football, he brought his drum set with him.
"I ended up in six bands in the first four or five months," he recalls. "One of them was an offshoot of the glee club.
