TRADE union federation Cosatu has called on public watchdogs to investigate contracts awarded by Marine and Coastal Management (MCM) to companies linked to heavyweight BEE players.

Advocate Dumisa Ntsebeza, former Truth and Reconciliation Commissioner turned high- profile businessman and Judicial Services Commissioner, is one of the names that has attracted controversy.

Kagiso Trust Investments - founded in the 1980s to fund the anti-apartheid movement - and consultant firm Resolve have also raised the ire of Cosatu's fishing desk.

Kagiso Trust Investments is a minority shareholder in Resolve.
