UNTIL about two weeks ago, prostitution, drug-dealing and shebeens were part of life in the grounds of Tygerberg Hospital, threatening the safety of medical staff and patients.
Although the situation has improved, about 50 homeless people continue to live on the property.
This emerged when the provincial parliament's standing committee on community development visited the hospital last week to assess the hospital's security.
