The European Parliament's legal service is highly critical of the German Constitutional Court and considers its ruling on the Lisbon Treaty to be underpinned by a "nationalist" vision. The Karlsrhue judges are even considering starting a dispute with the EU Court of Justice.
The Parliament's Jurisconsult, Christian Pennera, was in the Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO), on 31 August, in Brussels. But it is above all his counterpart, Johann Schoo, responsible for institutional affairs, who took the floor on the 140-page ruling issued on 30 June by the German court.
