THE BJP'S efforts to dislodge Jaswant Singh from a prestigious parliamentary committee failed on Monday as the defiant leader refused to quit the post at their request.
The BJP's deputy leader in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and her counterpart in the Rajya Sabha S. S. Ahluwalia landed at Singh's residence at Teen Murti Lane in the afternoon.
The purpose of this unexpected visit apparently was to ask him to resign from the post of the chairman of the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee ( PAC).
