PIRATES attacked a Bahraini-owned dhow sailing from the UAE to Bahrain, it emerged yesterday. Sources said its six-man Indian crew were ambushed on Friday night by another vessel with an armed crew.
Four pirates - suspected to be Iranian - threatened the dhow's crew with guns before stealing their cargo of fish and mobile phones.
The Indian sailors escaped unharmed and returned to Bahrain on Sunday, although they later admitted they could not positively identify the nationality of their attackers.
