Oshkosh wins defense contract

A five-year contract won by Oshkosh Defense is estimated to be worth more than $2 billion and could lead to 100 or more new Southeast Michigan jobs.

Oshkosh was the winning bidder on a truck and trailer contract through the U.S. Army Tacom Life Cycle Management Command in Warren.

Oshkosh Defense, a division of Wisconsin-based Oshkosh Corp., won over rival defense contractors Navistar International and BAE Systems for production of up to 23,000 trucks and trailers in the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles.
