Homer Bonhiver was in his 80s when a would-be thief confronted him in a Minneapolis parking ramp and tried to take his wallet. Bonhiver fought off his attacker and kept his wallet.
He showed the same strength and courage when it came to protecting the public from fraud. As a forensic certified public accountant, Bonhiver was sharp, dedicated, relentless and "terribly trustworthy," said former U.S. District Judge Miles Lord. Local, state and federal officials called on his expertise to help crack the toughest fraud cases and oversee disputed elections.
