Thai mobile operator launches pilot in preparation for licence awards later this year.
Total Access Communication PCL, or DTAC, Thailand's second largest mobile phone operator by subscribers, Tuesday kicked off a four-month trial period for its third-generation mobile broadband in Bangkok.
DTAC is conducting the trial based on high-speed packet access technology over its existing 850-megahertz frequency, the company said in a statement issued Monday.
The trial will cost an estimated THB100 million, said the company, which is also listed on the Singapore bourse.
