It has now been reported by Mayor Bill White and the Houston Airport System, that the Houston Department of Aviation has now received $8.8 million in grants from the Federal Aviation Administration to help install new state-of-the-art equipment at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. This is expected to help reduce emissions by up to 60 percent.
The two grants, which were awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration s Airport Improvement Program, will now allow the purchase and installation of new solar panels, as well as chillers and heaters in the airport s central operating plant which controls the air conditioning and ...
