JAKARTA, Sept 3 Asia Pulse - Two of Indonesia's largest conglomerates - Sinar Mas Group and the Bakrie Group - are competing to acquire assets from the ailing Domba Mas Group.

The buyer will pay Rp8 trillion (US$800 million) including for the debt of Domba Mas, a producer of oleochemicals and palm oil products, the newspaper Jakarta Globe said.

Bakrie will seek to acquire the assets through its palm oil producing subsidiary PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (JSX:UNSP), a source told the paper.
