AEM, as it is coded, is still at the option stage of buying a 44 per cent stake in a Thai mining project, as announced early this year. We don't want to be cheeky but with accumulated losses of $5.27 million and share capital of $5.26m, AEM can't just turn up waving the cheque book.

The company (first listed in December 2004 at 20c a share and last seen at 0.5c) sold a talent-academy business called Brightstars in October last year for $11.15m to John B.
