AUBURN - The woman thrashed about in deep water, yelling for help. A massive black dog plunged to her rescue, pulling her to safety.
"That is what they do," said Susan D. Marino of 5 Idlewood Drive. She has witnessed this scene hundreds of times.
Mrs. Marino is a nationally certified judge of water and draft work tests for Newfoundland dogs, which she has judged across New England and the nation. She will travel to California later this month to judge a water and draft test.
