Germany s DAX Index fell for a fourth day as better-than-estimated data on U.S. service industries failed to ease concern share prices have outpaced the prospects for an economic recovery after a six-month rally.
BASF SE dropped 3.7 as analysts recommended investors reduce holdings in the world s largest chemical company. Volkswagen AG closed at a two-year low. ThyssenKrupp AG and Salzgitter AG followed European basic-resource shares higher, adding more than 2 percent.
