Delcam, a UK-based firm which develops CADCAM software used by the mould making industry, says turnover during the first half of the year dropped only 5% to [pounds sterling]16.1m ( 18.4m), although the economic downturn led to a larger drop in profits.

Profits slumped to [pounds sterling]0.3m ( 0.34m) from [pounds sterling]1.4m ( 1.6m) in the first half of 2008, while revenues from software maintenance and support contracts totalled [pounds sterling]5.8m.
