QUEENSBURY -- Manhattan-based Delcath Systems Inc. said Thursday it will establish a manufacturing, distribution, research and development facility in Queensbury as it prepares to produce its new medical device for delivering drugs to liver tumors.
The device, called a Percutaneous Hepatic Perfusion System, currently is in Phase III tests for delivering melphalan to the liver. It delivers higher doses of anti-cancer drugs while minimizing the amount of drugs that get into the rest of the patient's body, according to Delcath.
