Hong Kong stocks rose on Friday. The Hang Seng Index, the benchmark, opened 68 points higher at 19,830. After touching the intraday low of 19,744.45 points, the blue-chip Hang Seng Index rose 556.94 points or 2.82% to close at 20,318.62.
Mainboard turnover rose to HK$75.66 billion.
The Hang Seng China Enterprise Index, which tracks the overall performance of 43 Chinese mainland state-owned enterprises on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, swelled 331.34 points or 2.9% to 11,760.55 points.
Market heavyweight HSBC Holdings Plc, which accounts for the largest weighting for the Hang Seng Index, increased 1.3% to HK$82.05.
