FOR MANY, workplace training conjures up images of seminar rooms and flipcharts. But while traditional classroom-based learning still has a place, training is fast adapting to the demands of a new generation of technology-savvy staff.
One company is even testing staff performance reviews on social networking site Twitter, sending out messages such as 'deadlines often barely met -- customer contact excellent -- however, job retention at risk'. While such an approach might be extreme, managers are being urged to embrace the technological revolution and its potential for improving the skills and knowledge of staff in new and better ways. ...
