Mia's family is weird--plain weird! Her sister dyes her hair a different color each week, her brother keeps a chart of how many hamburgers he's eaten, and her parents think it's all funny! Everyone thinks Mia wins the award for "Normalest Kid" in the family, including her best friend, Jenna.
But Mia knows something no one else does. Sounds, numbers, and letters all have colors that go with them. Until third grade, she thought everyone saw the world the way she did, but Mia learns this isn't true in a very embarrassing way.
