Franklin Templeton Investments' private equity unit, Darby Overseas Investments, Ltd. made a multi-tranche investment of EUR 15.3 million ($21.5 million) into Energy 21, a Czech Republic-based solar power plants developer and operator. More specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In a statement, Energy 21's chairman and chief executive officer Daniel Kunz said the investment will be used to construct photovoltaic plants and development power plants for outside clients. Robert D. Graffam, a senior managing director at Darby, led the transaction.
