Idd al-Shargi South Dome (ISSD), 24 km south of ISND, has been developed by Oxy under another EPSA signed in September 1997. Oxy was committed to invest $212m. Limited oil production at ISSD began in October 1999 and this reached a plateau of 17,000 b/d in 2006. Its current output is 15,000 b/d.
Full development work began in late July 1999 as Oxy launched a seven-well drilling programme. Sembawang was contracted in late 2002 to provide a central procesing platform at ISSD, bridges and tie-ins to ISND. Genesis of the UK did the FEED work.
