The United Missile Defense Company (UMDC) will not protest the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization's (BMDO) recent decision to award Boeing [BA] a lucrative contract to oversee the development and fielding of a national missile defense system. The company had until yesterday to protest the $1.6 billion contract awarded on May 1.
A UMDC spokesman said a letter has been sent to BMDO notifying officials that the company would not protest the contract award. The company made the decision after being briefed on the decision by senior BMDO officials.
