The push to develop the next generation of WA iron ore miners has gained further momentum with the appointment of global engineering company Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) to undertake the crucial engineering pre-feasibility study on building two berths in the inner harbour at Port Hedland.

The port berths, which are being developed by the North West Iron Ore Alliance on behalf of its member companies, are integral to the evolution of the next tier of iron ore miners, providing a practical and cost-effective way for them to export their product.
